During the visit of Home Minister Amit Shah to Shanti Niketan, TMC has raised the issue over the photos on the Vishwa Bharati University campus. TMC has said that among the posters BJP has put up in the university, Amit Shah's photo is above Gurudev Tagore's photo. Subrata Mukherjee, a minister and TMC leader in the Bengal government, has said that the BJP and Amit Shah have disrespected Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore.

Today is the second day of Amit Shah's visit to Bengal. Today he is in Birbhum, the birthplace of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. In Birbhum, Shah attended many functions at Visva Bharati University in Santiniketan. To welcome Shah, BJP workers have put pictures of him on the university campus. Amit Shah is seen at the top of these photos. Below him is a sketch of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore.

TMC has made these photos an issue. Subrata Mukherjee, a minister in the TMC government, has said that the BJP does not know the culture of Bengal. He has said that by putting the photo of Gurudev down, the BJP and Amit Shah have disrespected Gurudev Tagore. Amit Shah attended the cultural ceremony at Visva Bharati University in Shanti Niketan. He laid a wreath on the statue of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. After this, the students of the University presented a colourful ceremony on Rabindra Sangeet.
