Kolkata: The CBI has arrested three accused in connection with the post-poll violence in West Bengal. Biswajit Mahesh was murdered in West Midnapore on May 4 last year. This arrest has been made in the same case. Violence broke out after the elections on May 4, after the results of the assembly elections were announced. It is alleged that party supporter Biswajit Mahesh was brutally beaten up in the Sabang police station area.

Biswajit was working in the fields near his house. They were reportedly attacked at the time. His body was later found in a local pond. He was murdered and dumped in a pond in the area. The CBI is investigating the case of post-election violence. Hundreds of people have been arrested so far, but in many cases, the accused are still out of custody.

The police of Sabang police station have named them in the investigation. The body was recovered and sent for post-mortem. A complaint was lodged on behalf of the family members in the name of several people at the Sabang police station. The police were named in the investigation. Then in November, the CBI began investigating the incident and after examining the post-mortem report, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said that the case should be investigated seriously.
