Bengaluru airport receives threat call for Air Asia flight

Kolkata: A threat call was received at the Bengaluru airport on Sunday after which the Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF) cordoned off Air Asia's flight I5-588 .T

According to news agency ANI, Following the call, all passengers had been de-boarded. Security forces have kept the aircraft in isolation bay, and were inspecting the craft.

The flight was scheduled to travel from West Bengal Bagdogra to Kolkata and had 179 passengers on board.

As per the reports, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) had also reached the airport and were checking the aircraft. Several fire tenders had also arrived at the spot.

Earlier, In February also a threat call about a bomb was also received by Ahmedabad airport, claiming that a bomb was placed at Terminal 2 of the airport. However, the call had turned out to be a hoax call. Following the threat call, security had been beefed up at Ahmedabad airport. However, there was no disruption in flight services at Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International.
