Bengaluru: Drugs worth Rs 5 crore seized by Crime Branch, five peddlers arrested

Bengaluru: Central Crime Branch (CCB) anti-narcotic wing on Friday arrested five drug peddlers in Bengaluru for illegally possessing drugs worth Rupees five crore, said Sandeep Patil, Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime, Bengaluru City Police.

The arrested peddlers are identified as Nabaran Chakma, from Assam, his associates Mobin Babu, Roland Rodney Rozer, a foreigner and Tarun Kumar Lalchand. The gang operated from Elite Ashwini apartment, ducking the police department for 3 years. They allegedly supplied Hashish Oil all over the city to software professionals, college students, businessmen and elite customers.  The crime branch captured 15 kg hashish, 10 kg cannabis, charas, cocaine, ecstasy pills, LSD strips, hydro ganja plants, the Joint Commissioner of Police said in his tweet.

The police, after getting a tip off, raided the apartment in the wee hours of Friday. Police have recovered cell phones and measurement tools. The main accused Nabaran Chakma who hails from Assam settled in Bengaluru according to the police to carry out drug peddling.
