After India's top players Prajnesh Gunneswaran and Sumit Nagal lost in the pre-quarterfinals, the host India's challenges in the Bangalore Open men's singles competition now ended. Seventh-seeded Prajnesh lost to France's lower-ranked Benjamin Bonji 6-7, 0-6.

Eighth-seeded Sumit lost 3-6, 3-6 to 11th seed Blaz Rola of Slovenia. Other players to be dropped from the tournament included 17th seed Ramkumar Ramanathan, Saket Myneni, wild card holder Nikki Poonacha and Siddharth Rawat. Legendary player Leander Paes reaching the men's doubles semifinals was joyous news at the Indian camp, who won with Australia's Matthew Abdon. Paes and Abdon beat the third-seeded pair of ATP tournament champions, Andre Goranson of Sweden and Christopher Rungkat of Indonesia 7-5, 0-6, 10-7, last week.

Saket and Australia's Matt Red defeated Chinese top Taipei's Cheng Peng and Ukraine's Denis Molchanov by 3–6, 6–4, 10–8 to enter the final 4. The pair of Purav Raja and Ramkumar Ramanathan also advanced to the next round, defeating Portugal's Frederico Silva and Serbia's Nikola Milojevic 6-4, 6-4.
