Betul: The campaign started by the Blue Gang of Police in Betul, Madhya Pradesh, is very unique. Under this campaign, people who went to bars to drink liquor returned after drinking the syrup, not only that they have to swear not to drink in future. In fact, to get rid of the alcohol, the Blue Gang of Police arrived in Manjhi town of Betul and government official liquor shops with a can of liquor filled with lemon syrup.

Standing in front of the shops, the Blue Gang gave syrup to those who had drunk or were in line to drink. Apart from this, those who were going home after buying the liquor, the Blue Gang made them consume cold drink instead of liquor. The Blue Gang made more than forty people drink the cold drink and advised them not to drink alcohol further and told about the cons of drinking alcohol. After Blue Gang's advise some people also dumped the purchased liquor in the garbage.

The Betul police have formed a team of philanthropists and women guards to remove social evils, it has been named Blue Gang. Blue gang uniform is also blue in colour. The motive of the Blue Gang is to make the city alcohol free because after drinking alcohol, there is usually a quarrel in the family and there are criminal incidents due to alcohol, so this type of campaign should be conducted to make people aware.
