New Delhi: India has won the first match of the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia by an inning and 132 runs. With this victory, India has taken a 1-0 lead in the four-Test series. If we talk about the second Test match, then Australia's first innings in Delhi was reduced to 263 runs. In response to this, Team India also could not do anything special and were left behind by 1 run. But, in the second innings the Kangaroo team was bundled out for just 113 runs and the Indian camp won the match by 6 wickets, and they took an unbeatable 2-0 lead over the Kangaroo team.
Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, who tricked the batsmen with their spin bowling in Australia's first innings, also played an important role in wrapping up the Kangaroo team's second innings. In the second innings, Ashwin sent 3 Australian batsmen to the pavilion, while Jadeja sent the rest of the team to the pavilion. Ravindra Jadeja took 7 wickets in the second inning. In Australia's second innings, only Head (43), and Labushane (35), could reach double-digit figures.
Captain Rohit Sharma (31), Pujara (31), and Bharat (23) played an important role in the victory of India. Earlier, India had scored 262 runs in their first innings with the help of Akshar Patel's (74) tremendous fifty. Due to this, the Kangaroos could not get much lead. Now the next Test match between the two teams will be played at the Holkar Stadium in Indore from March 1.
