Famous 'Bhajan Samrat' Narendra Chanchal passes away

Mumbai:'Chalo Bulawa Aaya Hai', 'O Jungle Ke Raja Meri Maiya Ko Lekar Aaja', Bhajan Samrat Narendra Chanchal, who has been in the heart of the people, has passed away at the age of 80. He had been running ill for quite some time. He was undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital in Delhi for the last three days. He breathed his last at around 12.15 pm today. He has also sung songs for Hindi films along with many famous bhajans.

Bollywood stars and his fans are in mourning after the news of Narendra's demise surfaced. Narendra Chanchal gave a different direction to the Goddess' Jagrate. He got fame not only in classical music, but also reigned over people's hearts with folk music. He has seen his mother singing Bhajans of Goddess Kailashavati since childhood. Listening to the mother's bhajans, he also got interested in music. Narendra's first guru was his mother, then he learnt music from Prem Trikha and since then he started singing bhajans.

His journey in Bollywood began with Raj Kapoor. In the film 'Bobby', he sang 'Beshak Mandir Masjid Todo'. He then sang songs for several films, but he was recognised in the film Asha, sung 'Chalo Bulawa Aaya Hai' which made him a star overnight.
