Audition going on in a 5-star hotel in a small town like Amritsar used to mean that the director will do something wrong with you, the director is calling you to molest. So I went to audition with my 3-4 friends. I told them that if I do not come down in 15 minutes, then you guys should come up with the police before I was raped.

Bharti further said, 'When I went to the hotel room, the director was sitting in shorts. Seeing him, I thought that he is in full preparation. These people do the same thing, they bluff small-town girls, and they mean right in the movies.' The director asked me what can I do? So I thought it simply asked what can you do? I fearfully told that I know comedy, I have done theatre and have done comedy characters. He said- do... So I did all the comedy I had played till now. After that, no call came for two to three months. Then one day I got a call from the neighbour's phone and I was told that I was shortlisted for the audition for Laughter Challenge and tickets were sent to me that's how I came to Mumbai'.
