Last month, there was a report claiming that with the help of UPI in the new version, anyone would be able to make payments up to Rs 2 lakh. Also, overdraft accounts will allow anyone to make payments.

For your information, only those accounts that have money currently receive the payment. Shopkeepers will also be allowed to block money in their customers' accounts as security. They will be able to remove it at a later date. UPI app holders will also be able to book flight tickets and hotels easily. The Reserve Bank of India has also proposed that e-wallet payments start, but at the moment only bank accounts do so.
