New Delhi: Bhumata Brigade President Trupti Desai has said that why only devotees are being asked to come to the Saibaba temple wearing decent clothes. The priests in the temple remain half-unclothed, but no devotee has objected to it. On behalf of the Saibaba Temple Trust of Shirdi, devotees have been requested to come to the temple by wearing clothes in a civilized manner.

On this appeal, social activist Trupti Desai has raised objections and asked why there are double standards for devotees and priests. In a video message, she said that the installation of such boards for the devotees by the temple trust is against the constitutional right to freedom of expression. Bhumata Brigade President Trupti Desai also said that if the boards are not removed, he and his other workers will go to Shirdi in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra and remove the board.

The Chief Executive Officer of Shri Shirdi Saibaba Sansthan Trust, Kanhuraj Bagate, said on Tuesday that the Trust has only requested the devotees to come there in a decent manner. He said that he has not imposed any rules regarding costumes. The Chief Executive Officer of Shirdi Saibaba Sansthan Trust said that there was a complaint by the devotees that some people come to the temple wearing objectionable clothes after which this request has been made.
