In 2018-19 also, the support price of paddy was increased by more than Rs 200. The increased input cost of paddy production such as manure, seeds, pesticides, diesel, wages and support price of paddy should be increased to Rs.2,500 in the larger interest of farmers. In his letter, CM Bhupesh Baghel has said that 65 % of the total paddy production of farmers in the state is generated through Primary Agricultural Credit Committees at MSP.

About 13 lakh 50 thousand small and marginal farmers and 3 lakh 5 thousand large farmers benefit from paddy acquired by the state. This gives the farmers the true value of the acquired paddy. CM Baghel has said that the priority of the state is to make farmers self-reliant by strengthening them financially. For this purpose, incentives have also been initiated by the Chhattisgarh State Government to provide incentives to farmers for paddy production in addition to MSP.
