New Delhi: Bhupinder Singh Mann, national president of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Bhakiu) and chairman of the All India Farmers Coordination Committee, has separated himself from a four-member supreme court committee on the farmers' protest. Since the formation of the committee, there has been uproar over his name, as Bhupinder has already supported the three laws.

It may be noted that the apex court has set up a four-member committee to end the ongoing standoff between the farmers' organization and the government. The committee was also comprised of All India Kisan Coordination Committee Chairman and former Rajya Sabha member Bhupinder Singh Mann. Many farmers' organisations come under their organization. They are described as a special influence among the farmers.

Bhupinder Singh Mann met Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar in December and endorsed the new laws. However, he had also suggested some changes which the government had agreed to accept. They were asked to provide a written guarantee on minimum support price (MSP). Bhupinder Singh Mann's agitating farmers are protesting.
