Mumbai: Bhushan Singh Raje Holkar of the Holkar family has expressed his displeasure over senior Shiv Sena leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut comparing CM Mamata Banerjee, who won the West Bengal assembly elections in the party's mouthpiece Saamna, to punya shloka Ahilyabai Holkar.

Bhushan Singh Raje has written to Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray condemning Banerjee's comparison with Ahilyabai. He said that they should throw mud at each other with joy for the cause of the situation. But if the nation is comparing men to the present leaders, it will not be tolerated at all. Bhushan Singh Raje said ahilyabai can never be compared to a leader who oppressed her people due to political hatred. He said the way Raut compared Banerjee to Ahilyabai in the weekly column of Shiv Sena's manifesto 'Saamna' shows her ideological level.

Earlier last Sunday, Raut had compared Banerjee to Ahilyabai in Saamna and wrote that Banerjee's battle for assembly elections would have to be compared to the Battle of Ahilyabai. Ahilyabai herself had taken over rajpat because she was not the heir to Holkar's throne. No one could stand in front of Ahilyabai.
