US President Joe Biden recalled a stern warning on January 5, expressing concerns about the potential threat posed by former President Donald Trump's bid to reclaim the White House in the 2024 election. Biden, while speaking in Pennsylvania's Blue Bell, emphasized the danger Trump's candidacy might pose to the nation's stability. During the address, Biden also honored 12 individuals with America's second-highest civilian award for their defense of the Capitol during the January 6, 2021, attack.

Recalling the events of the Capitol riot, Biden highlighted Trump's role, stating, "Inside, they hunted for Speaker Pelosi. The House was chanting as they marched through and smashed windows, 'Where’s Nancy?' Over 140 police officers were injured. Jill and I attended the funeral of police officers who died as a result of the events of that day."

Blaming Trump for the chaos and fatalities, Biden asserted, "Because of Donald Trump’s lies, they died because these lies brought a mob to Washington."

Continuing to emphasize his viewpoint, Biden said, “We all know who Donald Trump is," and posed the question, “The question we have to answer is who are we?"

The president highlighted Trump's statements referring to the insurrectionists as 'patriots' and alleged promises of pardons if he were to return to office. Biden accused Trump of attempting to distort the events of January 6, likening it to an effort to rewrite history, just as Trump had allegedly attempted to overturn the election results.

Former President Trump faces 91 criminal charges related to his efforts to overturn the 2020 election loss to Biden, alongside three other felony cases. The Supreme Court has recently taken up the issue of whether Trump can be barred from the ballot due to his attempts to overturn the election results.

Responding to Biden's remarks while speaking in Iowa, Donald Trump accused Biden of misusing George Washington's legacy to attack him and his supporters. He warned Biden that the upcoming election would be the last chance to save America.
