Washington: Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. claims that US President Joe Biden is preparing to battle Russian forces in Ukraine by ordering the deployment of 3,000 more reservists to Europe.

Kennedy tweeted on Friday that Biden "has lost his way" and urged the president to concentrate on fixing domestic issues rather than pursuing "global military dominance."

"I want people to comprehend the purpose of this troop mobilisation. It involves getting ready for a ground conflict with Russia," he said.

The Democratic candidate for president stated that the Biden administration's "futile geopolitical fantasy" is that it can defeat Moscow in its conflict with Kiev.

Because "America's foreign policy establishment manipulated their country into war," thousands of Ukrainians have already died. The Biden administration is getting ready to sacrifice American lives as well, Kennedy said, rather than admitting failure.

In order to bolster Operation Atlantic Resolve, which the US military launched in Europe in 2014 after Crimea re-joined Russia as a result of the Western-backed coup in Kiev, Biden signed an executive order on Thursday mobilising 3,000 members of the Selected Reserve of the US military.

The action "reaffirms the unwavering [US] support and commitment to defend NATO's eastern flank" in the wake of Russia's military operation in Ukraine, according to Army Lieutenant General Douglas Sims, director of operations for the Joint Staff.

The deployment of reservists, according to Navy Captain Bill Speaks, spokesman for US European Command (EUCOM), "will not change current force-posture levels in Europe."

Donald Trump, the front-runner Republican for president, also had some harsh words to say about Biden's choice to send more American troops to Europe. The White House's "reckless escalation in Ukraine" is "straining the US military to the point of disaster," he claimed.

Trump reaffirmed his earlier promise to put an end to the conflict in Ukraine in 24 hours if he were elected president again. "No American parent wants to send their child to Eastern Europe to perish. We must live in harmony.

Vivek Ramaswamy, a different Republican candidate for president, called it "downright disturbing" that the US media is largely ignoring the president's order in its reporting. Why are reservists being sent to Europe right now? What are the procedures? What will they do next? How will they proceed? Ramaswamy said in a statement, "We need answers, not to brush this under the rug as Biden would prefer.
