Washington: According to Politico, senior Biden administration cybersecurity officials met with executives from 13 major technology companies to seek private-sector assistance in securing US networks from increasingly aggressive hackers.

According to the report, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, CISA Director Jen Easterly, National Cyber Director Chris Inglis, and other officials met with executives from 13 organisations, including Google, networking provider Juniper Networks, and security firm Mandiant.

According to Mayorkas, the goal was to turn a "spirit of partnership" into a relationship of "real operational collaboration."

Apart from Monday's gathering in Silicon Valley, Easterly, Inglis, and other cyber officials have crisscrossed the country in recent months, pressing corporate CEOs to prioritise cybersecurity rather than delegating it to employees, according to the article.
