Bids Opened for PGIMER Satellite Center in Ferozepur: Sukhbir Badal's Triumph

CHANDIGARH: Sukhbir Singh Badal, the President of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), proudly announced on Monday, September 25, that his relentless efforts to jumpstart the PGIMER Satellite Center in Ferozepur had finally come to fruition. The prestigious PGI, Chandigarh, has now appointed an executing agency to oversee the construction of the Rs 233 crore center and has initiated the bidding process.

Previously, Badal had taken his cause directly to Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, securing in-principle approval for this vital project.

Overflowing with contentment that the satellite center, complete with a 100-bed hospital, is now on track for completion within two years, Badal declared, "This facility will be a godsend for the border region, which has suffered from a lack of specialized medical services for decades."

Despite the fact that the previous SAD administration had allocated 27.5 acres of land for the satellite center once it received approval in 2016, the project had remained stagnant for an extended period. Badal pointed fingers at the successive Congress and AAP governments, accusing them of neglecting the project's acceleration.

Badal further revealed that he had diligently pursued the project with the Central government, and he was elated that work was finally commencing. "I share in the joy of the people residing in the Ferozepur parliamentary constituency, who will no longer need to undertake arduous journeys in search of specialized medical care," Badal added.'''
