Bhiwandi: In a tragic incident, one person died and several others were buried under the debris after a building collapsed in Maharashtra's Bhiwandi. The incident took place in the Gulf Par area where a two-story building collapsed in Moolchand Compound, just opposite Shaan Hotel. It is said that this building was 30 to 35 years old. The first floor of the building collapsed along with 8 shops built below. One of these eight shops had a cloth shop owned by 35-year-old Majid Habib Ansari and he closed the shop at night and slept there.

He died on the spot after debris fell on the shopkeeper. It is being said that at around 3:30 in the morning, the building collapsed. There are many godowns and offices in this building in which raw materials are prepared and kept. Soon after the information of the incident was received, police and fire brigade personnel of Nizampur police station reached the spot and started rescue work. After a lot of hard work, the fire brigade personnel pulled out the body of the man trapped in the debris and sent it to Indira Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem.

Last year, a four-story building collapsed in Saibaba Nagar in Borivali West. The building was already very damaged. In such a situation, the administration had already evacuated it. The building was named Gitanjali in Sai Baba Nagar of Borivali. It is present near the Sai Baba temple.
