Dehradun: Assembly elections are proposed in Uttarakhand next year. For the first time, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is also going to try its luck in the hill state of Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand. After the promise of free electricity, the party has now made its first bet by declaring retired Col. Ajay Kothiyal as its CM candidate in the upcoming elections.
Delhi CM and AAP National President Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday declared retired Colonel Ajay Kothiyal in Dehradun as the CM face by the Aam Aadmi Party in the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttarakhand. Retired Colonel Ajay Kothiyal started his military career on April 19. It was only on April 19 that he joined the Aam Aadmi Party and started his political innings. Ajay Kothiyal was awarded the Kirti Chakra for the pile-up of seven terrorists during Operation Kongwatan. Not only that, during the 'Operation Parakram' led by him, 4 Garhwal Rifles killed 21 terrorists, out of which the then Major Ajay Kothiyal was involved in the killing of 17 terrorists.
At the same time, Colonel (Ret) Ajay Kothiyal's name comes first in the construction work that began after the devastating Himalayan Tsunami in Uttarakhand in 2013, and especially in Kedarnath reconstruction. The divine and grand form in which Kedarpuri is visible today go to Colonel Kothiyal and the team working under his direction in a very challenging situation.
