The BiG BANG! Festival of Love is making a vibrant return on October 26 and 27 in Nandisa, Assam, a picturesque village with a history of 500 years and only 28 households. This festival, which has been on hiatus for three years, aims to celebrate love, community, and the preservation of indigenous traditions through the universal language of music.

Founded in 2016 by musician and activist Daniel Langthasa alongside indigenous chef Avantika Roohi Haflongbar, the festival seeks to promote local economies, indigenous knowledge, and sustainable living practices. "The BiG BANG Festival was born out of a deep love for our land and people," shares Daniel, the co-founder. "It encourages us to slow down, appreciate nature, and recognize the immense value of our traditional ways of living, even as we navigate the modern world."

This year's theme, "Village is the Future," emphasizes the importance of local communities and sustainable lifestyles. Attendees can look forward to an array of live music and dance performances, as well as various workshops designed to celebrate local culture and highlight the value of nature-based solutions for environmental improvement.

Taking place in one of the oldest Dimasa villages in the Dima Hasao district, the BiG BANG! Festival of Love promises to be a family-friendly event that immerses participants in the richness of India’s roots. As the festival unfolds, it will serve as a reminder of the deep connections between culture, nature, and community.
