New Delhi: Due to some provisions made in the Budget 2022, the burden of inflation on the common man is going to increase further from April 1. From tomorrow, running a phone with TV, AC fridge will also become expensive. In fact, in the budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in February this year, the import duty on many products was increased, while on some it was reduced. The new fee is effective from 1st April. Therefore, with the raw material on which the excise duty has been increased, it is believed that the prices of the related products will increase.

From April 1, the government has imposed a 30 per cent import duty on aluminium ore and concentrate. It is used in making television, AC and refrigerator hardware. Due to the costly supply of raw materials, the cost of production of the companies will increase and its direct burden will be on the consumers. Apart from this, the import duty has also been increased on the parts used in the compressor, which will increase the prices of refrigerators. The government has said that the basic customs duty plus a 6% reimbursement duty will be levied on the material used in making LED bulbs. After the implementation of its new rule from April 1, LED bulbs will also become expensive. The government has also changed the import duty on silver, due to which silverware and its products will also become expensive after April 1. Apart from this, steel items will also be hit by inflation and from tomorrow, utensils made of steel will become expensive.

Along with this, the government has also imposed customs duty on the printed circuit boards used in making mobile phones. Meaning the import of these products from outside will now become expensive, which will affect the cost of production of the companies. According to the American firm Grant Thronton, this decision of the government will have a direct impact on the consumers and the prices of the phone may increase. Also, the telecom companies which were giving free unlimited data and calling facilities to their people till now. They will end these services on March 31. In such a situation, in the midst of increasing competition in the 4G market, such people will now have to choose a tariff plan and the cost of running the phone on them will also increase unintentionally.
