Congress suffers major setback in Kerala as V. M. Sudheeran resigns from AICC membership

Kochi: Veteran Kerala Congress leader V.M. Sudheeran has resigned from the membership of the AICC. Two days ago, he had withdrawn from the political affairs committee of the KPCC. Sources close to him said today. Sources told the media that he had resigned from AICC two days ago on the day he left KPCC.

Sudheeran resigned from the Congress, despite all the efforts of the Congress high command and local leaders. Congress Kerala in-charge Tariq Anwar said he will discuss the matter with Sudheeran. Earlier, Anwar had said that the party wants every senior leader to cooperate in organizational matters, but we cannot force anyone to do so.

Leader of opposition in the state assembly VD Satishan had met Sudhiran to persuade him on Sunday but failed. Sudhreen had raised complaints about some organizational issues in the state. After the meeting, Satishan had said that it was very difficult to convince him and as he was adamant on his decision.
