Patna: The outbreak of thundershowers continues in Bihar due to the monsoon season. A total of 11 people died in the state on Monday. Bhojpur and Kaimur districts have reported the highest number of deaths of 3 people each. Two persons died in Jehanabad and one each in Patna, Rohtas and Aurangabad due to lightning.
A farmer died of lightning while working in a field in Mahut village of Kaimur district. At the same time, a woman in Parsia village under the Chainpur police station area and a man in the Rampur village of Bhabhua police station area lost their lives due to landslides. A teenager lost his life after being hit by a ruckus in Paliganj in Patna.
In the Bhojpur district, three women who were planting saplings in Nanur village under the Sahar police station area were hit by a devastating situation. Two of them died and another was badly injured. A woman also died in Baradih village in Tilothu block of Rohtas district. At the same time, due to the work in the field in the Khudwan police station area of Obra in Aurangabad, celestial lightning fell on the farmer. The farmer died on the spot. In addition, a transformer was burnt in Neema village adjoining the Patna-Gaya highway on Monday. More than a dozen homes lost power. This hampered the work of farmers' harvesting.
