New Delhi: The Narendra Modi government at the Centre has taken an important decision in the battle against the coronavirus epidemic. The government has completely abolished customs duty on remdesivir injections used in the treatment of coronavirus. At the same time, the raw material (Remdesivir API) used to make this remdesivir injection has been removed from the customs duty on other materials.

The government's announcement will increase the supply of remdesivir injections in the country and reduce its cost. The Modi government's decision is expected to provide a lot of relief to patients suffering from coronavirus infection. Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal took to social media platform Twitter to inform about the central government's decision.

He wrote in his tweet that pm Modi's injections, remdesivir API other materials have been made completely import duty-free keeping in mind the health of patients infected with coronavirus. He further wrote that the government's move will increase the supply of remdesivir and will also provide relief to patients due to cost reduction.
