Prime Minister Narendra Modi insists on increasing the corona test and sero survey

Calling for a constant state of vigilance and preparedness against the COVID-19 epidemic, PM Narendra Modi on Thursday ordered health officials to conduct corona tests and sero-surveys on a large scale. He said that regular and speedy testing facilities should be available to all at low cost. While chairing the review meeting on the study of corona and progress of vaccine formulation, the PM also noted the importance of traditional treatment methods.

PM reiterated the resolve of the country to get cheap and easily available solutions for testing, vaccine and medicine not only for India but for the whole world. Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, Niti Aayog member (Health), Chief Scientific Advisor and other officials also attended the meeting. The official statement said that in the meeting, the PM also underlined the need for traditional medical treatments.

Prime Minister praised the efforts of the Ministry of AYUSH for providing evidence-based research and reliable solutions during this difficult time. The PM assured the countrymen that the government is committed to providing COVID-19 screening, vaccine and treatment for all at an easy and low cost. The PM praised the efforts being made by Indian vaccine manufacturers to deal with the challenge of COVID-19 and gave them confidence of support. PM Modi said that regulatory reform is a dynamic process. The PM also oversaw the comprehensive distribution and delivery mechanism of the Ministry of Health for the vaccine. This includes mechanisms for adequate purchasing, technologies for bulk storage and ensuring effective distribution.
