Pierer Mobility Group, a luxury bike manufacturer, said that it sold 332,881 bikes throughout the world in 2021. For the company that owns premium two-wheeler brands including KTM, Husqvarna, and GasGas, this was the 11th consecutive record year. The car company reports that sales of motorbikes climbed by 23% in 2021 compared to 2020, when it sold 270,407 units worldwide.

Pierer Mobility's sales success in 2021 was stronger than even pre-pandemic levels. In 2019, the company sold 280,099 units. Pierer Mobility Group claims to have sold 120,000 units in Europe, with the remaining 210,000 units going to areas including North America, India, and Australia. However, the motorbike manufacturer did not provide sales numbers by region. Automobile manufacturers faced a difficult year in 2020.

After that, while total auto sales recovered slowly in 2021, motorcycles, in particular, saw a surge in demand. BMW Motorrad and Ducati, among other premium motorcycle companies, declared their best-ever sales performance in 2021.
