Mumbai: A big news is coming out from Maharashtra, BJP candidate Rahul Narvekar has been elected as the speaker of the Maharashtra assembly. Rahul Narvekar got 164 votes in favour. He has crossed the majority mark.

At the same time, newly-elected Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will move the confidence motion in the Assembly on July 4. BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis is the deputy CM in Shinde's cabinet. At the same time, Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress are part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance. It may be recalled that due to the rebellion of Eknath Shinde from the Shiv Sena, the government of these three parties had fallen last Wednesday. Then the very next day Eknath Shinde was sworn in as CM.

Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat said that Rajan Salvi is the opposition's candidate for the presidential election. Know that when Rajan Salvi filed his nomination papers, several leaders including Jayant Patil, Dhananjay Munde, Ashok Chavan and Sunil Prabhu were present with him. The Shinde faction is being tested in the Assembly today (Sunday) ahead of the floor test scheduled to be held on Monday. On the other hand, Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray removed Eknath Shinde from the post of 'Shiv Sena leader' for indulging in 'anti-party' activities.
