Samastipur: Railways take action from time to time against those who break the rules while traveling on the train. In this series, now Samastipur Railway Division of East Central Railway is running a continuous special ticket-checking campaign against passengers traveling without tickets. In this campaign, the Railway Board has collected a record amount of Rs 68 lakh 3 thousand as a fine in just 18 hours.

The same amount is more than the amount collected in a single day on 15th November in the campaign. Breaking their previous records of fines of Rs 55 lakh and Rs 61 lakh, the Mandal has collected more than Rs 68 lakh as a fine. DRM Alok Aggarwal told that on Tuesday, 22 November 2022, ticket checking campaign was conducted mainly at Samastipur, Darbhanga, Saharsa, Raxaul, Narkatiaganj, Bapudham Motihari, Jaynagar, and Sitamarhi stations of Samastipur Railway Division. A surprise fortification special ticket checking operation was conducted from 05.00 am to 11.00 pm. 

Due to this, a special ticket-checking campaign was conducted at stations and trains by forming separate teams of officers, in which a total of 9,700 cases of traveling without a ticket or without proper authorization were caught. An amount of Rs 68 lakh 3 thousand has been collected from these passengers as a fine. This amount is the highest in terms of ticket checking fines received by the Samastipur division on any single day of this financial year. According to Alok Aggarwal, DRM of Samastipur Railway Division, Passengers traveling without tickets on the train have been fined. Under that campaign, a message has been given that do not travel without a ticket. In this special campaign, more than 200 checking staff and the RPF team was deployed.
