New Delhi: For those travelling by train, there is fantastic news. On reality, the Railways Standing Committee has labelled the charging of rates in many trains under the flexi or dynamic pricing policy as discriminatory. The Railways have been asked to evaluate the policy by the committee. According to the committee, several trains charge flexi or dynamic fares separately, and the cost of Rajdhani and Shatabdi trains sometimes exceeds the fare of budget airlines.

According to reports, the committee stated that the price on tatkal tickets can be quite expensive depending on the customers' budget and is thus unjust. He claims that the tatkal ticket tax burdens individuals who are already struggling financially, forcing them to purchase expensive tickets if they need to go.

The committee went on to add that the government should implement unfair fare rules based on passenger distance travelled so that no one's wallet is overwhelmed. He has stated that the Ministry should evaluate the flexi/dynamic fee structure in light of passenger comfort and wisely decide the price. The ministry should ensure that the fares are balanced and on a fair playing field.

Discrimination in flexi/dynamic charge; The Committee has said that flexi/dynamic pricing appears to be somewhat discriminatory in light of the facts, since the tariffs of the Rajdhani, Shatabdi, and Duronto are higher than they were previously when compared to other mail and express trains. In many circumstances, this budget becomes equivalent to plane tickets and much more. Railway customers with low incomes or who are financially disadvantaged owing to high fares, according to the committee, will not be able to afford this fee and will not travel these trains.
