Google has also taken a major step to stop third-party call recording Android apps. Google has completely banned all call recording apps from the Google Play Store from tomorrow i.e. May 11. In fact, all legitimate call recording apps for Android have stopped working. So, if you're looking to record voice calls on your phone, you have to stay tuned to your smartphone's native call recording feature. If your smartphone doesn't have a built-in call recording feature, you can't record calls after May 11.

You won't be able to record calls from Truecaller: Truecaller is said to be one of the most popular dialer apps in India, and many users are also using to record voice calls. Call recording is said to be one of the most popular features of the Truecaller app in India. Truecaller has also confirmed that from May 11 onwards, it will not provide the opportunity to record phone calls around the world.

What did the company say?: A Truecaller spokesperson has said that in Truecaller, we have introduced call recordings for all Android handsets based on heavy consumer requests.' Truecaller's call recording function was free to enable the capability for all users, permission-based and essential users using the Google Accessibility API. However, due to the new Google Developer Program restrictions, we are no longer unable to provide call recordings."

These smartphones will be able to record calls: Truecaller has said that this will not have any impact on those handsets, it has built-in call recordings. Some smartphone manufacturers, including Xiaomi, Samsung, OnePlus and Oppo, include a built-in call recorder capability that is set to continue to work after May 11. Google has been engaged in taking action against call recordings for many years. It all started with the android 10 version when Google announced that call recording capacity is going to be removed as part of its privacy and security plan.
