Lucknow: A major sex racket has been busted by the police in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut on Thursday (September 29) morning. Police have found 14 couples from a hotel during this raid. On Thursday morning, the police raided Rex Heritage Hotel in the Kankarkheda police station area on suspicion of prostitution. A team of anti-human traffic units along with Meerut police conducted the raid led by CO Daurala Abhishek Patel. Seeing the police who arrived for the raid, there was a stampede in the hotel and the couples present in the rooms, including the hotel staff, started running away. The police took all of them into custody and interrogated them.

According to the information, the police found 14 pairs from the hotel, including some students. The police caught the staff and also saw the hotel register. The police found shortcomings regarding booking in the hotel register, after which the police also detained three women. The police also seized the DVR i.e. recording of the CCTV camera installed in the hotel. It is being told that the police had been receiving information and complaints of prostitution in this hotel for a long time. After this, the police raided on the basis of suspicion.
According to sources, the police took the three women into custody and brought them to the police station and started questioning them. These women are said to be involved in prostitution. A case was registered against the three at Kankarkheda police station. Apart from these, the police have also detained some other people including the hotel operator. It is also being said that the families of other girls and boys found in the hotel will be called and then they will be handed over to them. Police have sealed the hotel and are investigating the matter further.
