The minor wrestler's father told the media on Thursday that he had lodged a false complaint of sexual harassment against the WFI chief as he was angry over the injustice meted out to his daughter. The case against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh can also be weakened by this disclosure. For the last 6 months, wrestlers have been protesting against him regarding the issue of sexual harassment.

After the complaint of the minor wrestler, action is being taken under the POCSO Act. The minor's father has told the media about this, "It is better that the truth comes out now rather than coming to the court." He was asked why he is going back on his word now.

Continuing his point, he has said that "Now that the talks have started, the government has promised a fair inquiry into my daughter's defeat (Asian Under-17 Championship Trial) last year." It is also my duty to rectify my mistake. He has also explained his and his daughter's bitterness against Brij Bhushan. It started with the trial of the Asian Under 17 Championship in 2022 in Lucknow in which the minor girl could not make it to the Indian team after losing in the final. He blamed Brij Bhushan for the referee's decision. He has said about this, "I was filled with a sense of revenge because one year's hard work of my daughter had gone waste by a decision of the referee." I have also decided to take revenge.
