The state government submitted the action taken report to the court in the case of corruption in the Building and Other Construction Welfare Board in the Uttarakhand High Court. In which the government said that there has been no such thing as embezzlement or corruption worth Rs 20 crore in the Board. 20 crores had been given to another company due to negligence of board officials, which has now gone back to the state government account. The State Government has also told the court that an inquiry has been initiated under the provisions of uttarakhand Government ServantDisciplinary Amended Rules against the officers of the Board who caused the negligence.

The government said in the affidavit that the names of the then Secretary, Building and Construction Welfare Board, Damayanti Rawat, Chief Medical Officer, Employees State Insurance Scheme, Dr. Akashdeep, Chief Pharmacist Employees State Insurance Scheme BN Semwal and Senior Assistant Shram Nawab Singh were also included. Following the government's plea, a bench of Chief Justice RS Chauhan and Justice Alok Kumar Verma ordered the government to submit the full report of the inquiry against the negligent officers to the court by November 10. Kashipur resident Khurshid Ahmed had filed a PIL in the High Court stating that in 2020, the Building and Construction Welfare Board had purchased tool kits, sewing machines and bicycles for the workers. Financial irregularities were also committed by the board officials in this purchase.

When it was complained to the administration and the Governor, the Board has been dissolved in October, 2020 last year. The new chairman of the board Shamsher Singh Satyal has been appointed. When the Chairman conducted an inquiry, he has given information about the scam. Labour Commissioner Uttarakhand also took action in the case in which the names of top leaders and officials came to light but the government has removed the labour commissioner and appointed a new investigating officer. The petition said the new investigating officers are not taking impartial action.
