New Delhi: The National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) had announced in September 2021 last year that the Aadhaar based UPI (UPI) feature would be implemented soon. The deadline for this was first kept on 15 December 2021 and later it was increased to 15 March 2022. According to media reports, people will have to wait a little longer for this facility. To use this facility, the mobile number entered in the Aadhar card, registered with the bank and the mobile number being used for UPI should be the same. Debit card details are asked for the identity of the bank customer in the use of some applications. At the same time, with this new facility, digital transactions can be done without sharing debit card information. According to a report, the reason for the delay has been given. It was told that NPCI has to create a large ecosystem to start any new service, for which it takes about 9 to 12 months.

What is Aadhar Based UPI System:-

NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) and UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) are working together to create a secure UPI payment platform for the people. There will be no need for a debit card in this. This is a new method of verification. In this, people who do not have a debit card will also be able to do transactions using UPI easily.

How can use:-

For UPI payment, the user has to provide the Aadhaar number at the time of registration in the application. User data will be received from UIDAI, thereafter, an OTP will be received on the Aadhaar registered number. This mobile number should be registered with the bank account, after verification user can create VPA. After VPA, transactions can be done using UPI.
