New Delhi: Former PM Manmohan Singh is admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi due to ill health. He was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday after his health suddenly deteriorated. Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya arrived at AIIMS yesterday to enquire about his health. He met Manmohan Singh and took a good view of his health. Apart from him, former Congress party president Rahul Gandhi had also arrived at AIIMS know the plight of the former PM.

Talking about his health, officials related to the AIIMS administration said that he is currently suffering from fever. But treatment continues and their condition is stable. In fact, Congress leader Dr Manmohan Singh was hit by the virus during the second wave of the corona. On April 19, they were found to be corona positive. After which he was admitted to the AIIMS. However, at that time he managed to win the battle of Corona.

Dr Manmohan Singh is a veteran Congress leader and currently a Rajya Sabha MP from Rajasthan. He was the PM of the country from 2004 to 2014. He underwent bypass surgery in AIIMS in 2009. Dr Manmohan Singh also held the finance ministry of the country from 1991 to 1996. In his political career, Dr Singh was a member of the Rajya Sabha from 1991, where he was the Leader of the Opposition from 1998 to 2004. He was sworn in as prime minister on May 22, 2004, after the 2004 Lok Sabha elections and became prime minister for the second time on May 22, 2009.
