Patna: An incident of rape of a 4-year-old girl has come to light in Gopalganj, Bihar. The 30-year-old accused committed the heinous act with the girl by luring her with chocolates. The victim has been admitted to Sadar Hospital, where her condition remains critical. The villagers caught hold of the accused youth and thrashed him first. Then handed over to the police.

According to Superintendent of Police Anand Kumar, the 4-year-old girl was playing outside her house in a village under the Manjhagarh police station area late on Saturday evening. In the meantime, the accused youth took her with him on the pretext of giving her chocolates and committed the crime of rape. Later, the crying victim reached her home and told the whole thing to her mother. Hearing about the cruelty with the girl, the family members along with the villagers beat up the accused fiercely. Then went to the police station and lodged a complaint against the accused.

As soon as the matter came to notice, a team headed by SDPO Sanjeev Kumar was formed and the accused was arrested. The police questioned the accused in which he confessed to his crime. Police said that a speedy trial will be conducted against the accused and he will be punished as soon as possible. Arrangements have also been made for better treatment of the victim child. The child's condition is still serious. SP Anand Kumar said that the accused who misbehaved with the girl will not be spared. He will be given the strictest punishment.
