Munger: Municipal Corporation sweepers have declared a strike in Munger district of Bihar today over three-point demands. This has led to the collapse of sanitation in the city. On the other hand, the sanitation workers have gone on strike for three months due to non-availability of salary and PF. The strike workers also raised slogans protesting against the office bearer.

A sweeper who went on strike told the press that he has not received the salary for three months. Even after repeated calls to the officials, these people keep on avoiding tomorrow. The sweeper said that due to non-payment of salary, they were unable to get two meals in their homes. This is the reason why all the sanitation workers today decided to go on strike demanding salary.

He said, we have the EPF money owed by the people but that too has not been received so far. At the same time, he said, if the demand of the people is not met, all of us sweepers will be on strike. When questioned about the issue, he said that the salaries of the scavengers are being arranged and their problem will be resolved soon.
