Patna: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) account has been opened in Bihar assembly elections. In Bihar, NDA has crossed the majority, but its account is still open. BJP candidate Murari Mohan Jha has beaten Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidates and RJD stalwart Abdul Bari Siddiqui in the Kevati assembly constituency of Darbhanga district.

Earlier, in the 2015 assembly elections, RJD's Faraj Fatmi was beaten by BJP's Ashok Kumar Yadav by 7,000 votes. In the 2020 assembly elections, RJD had fielded Abdul Bari Siddiqui and BJP's Murari Mohan Jha in the fray. From the Kevati assembly constituency, RJD has fielded Abdul Bari Siddiqui. Earlier, Fatmi had snatched the seat from Ashok Kumar, a BJP MLA in 2005 and 2010.

The CPI (M) candidate Ramchandra Shah was third. In this time's election, the equations have changed. In 2015, JDU was involved in the Grand Alliance. While JDU is with the NDA this time, the CPI (M) is contesting under the banner of the Grand Alliance. So, who will become the winner in these changed circumstances? All eyes are on the results. The seat was occupied by the RJD till 1990-95 and 2000 then Ghulam Sarwar became the RJD MLA here.
