Patna: Counting of votes for Bihar Assembly elections 2020 is underway. In the initial trend, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) 's Tejashwi Yadav is running ahead of 9368 votes from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Satish Kumar Yadav. So far, 16 rounds of counting have been done in the Raghapur seat. While 54% votes were cast in the Raghapur seat this time, there were 56% voting in 2015.

The Chief Ministerial candidate and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav is in the fray from Hajipur Lok Sabha constituency in Bihar and hot seat from Raghapur seat. BJP candidate Satish Kumar Yadav is in the fray on behalf of NDA. The Lok Janshakti Party (LOJPA), a former NDA ally and a separate election in Bihar this time, has also fielded Rakesh Rahan from here.

After the formation of the assembly seat, a total of 20 elections including 2000 by-elections have been held so far in the Yadav dominated Raghapur assembly constituency. Five-five times, the Congress and the RJD, two-two-time Janata Dal and the United Socialist Party and once JDU, Lok Dal, Janata Party (secular), Janata Party, Jan Sangh, and Socialist Party candidates have won.
