Aurangabad: Even today, there are some people in the society who are setting an example of social harmony by forgetting the discrimination of religion and caste. Bigan Singh Chandravanshi, a resident of Tandwa in Navinagar block of Aurangabad district of Bihar, is one of the few. According to information received, the 43-year-old Chandravanshi, being a Hindu for the past 30 years, fasts during Ramadan. It was started by him in 1991.
Bigan explains that fasting gives them immense peace. Along with fasting, they also celebrate the festival of Hindus with gaiety. He explained that today, moving forward with positive thinking, society needs to be reunited. The entire family, including his wife, cooperates in this task. He had earlier lived in Kolkata. At the same time, he realized that Allah should be worshipped along with God.
He then worshipped Lord Shiva on the one hand, and worshipped Allah on the other. People nearby opposed him and asked him not to fast when he fasted. But they did not pay heed to what he said. Bigan believes that God is one and we are all children of the same God. In such a situation, people should understand why there is so much discrimination between ourselves when we are all children of the same God.
