Begusarai: A husband shot dead his wife in a minor dispute in Ramdiri Ward No.2 in Matihani police station area of Begusarai district of Bihar on Tuesday night. Police have arrested four persons in the case and started questioning them. The body was brought to Sadar Hospital for postmortem on Wednesday morning.

Chhaya Devi from Amour married her daughter Sangeeta to Shankar Singh, a resident of Ramdiri in Matihani. Everything was going right after marriage. A few days ago, Shankar had taken a loan of Rs 1 lakh from his mother-in-law. Meanwhile, Chhaya Devi's husband passed away. After that Chhaya Devi started asking for money from her son-in-law. Meanwhile, seeing her mother's financial condition, Shankar's wife Sangeeta also started pressurising her husband. In the meantime, Shankar began to procrastinate in the name of returning the money. In the same vein, a dispute broke out with his wife on Tuesday night. Sangeeta was asking to return the money. Enraged, Shankar Singh shot dead his wife.

When the family came to know about it on Wednesday morning, they reached Ramdiri and informed the Matihani police station about the incident. Police have also taken immediate action and arrested four members of Shankar Singh's family and are interrogating them. Shankar Singh is currently absconding from the spot.
