Patna: 22-year-old newly married Anuradha Devi was strangled by her in-laws in Suga Bhawanipur village under Kangli police station in Betia district of Bihar. Police recovered Anuradha's body from the cremation ground of Sugha late Thursday evening. While giving information, Kangli Police Station Development Officer Vikas Kumar Tiwari said that her husband Umesh Pandey and father-in-law Radheshyam Pandey have been arrested in the case of killing Anuradha.

In this case of dowry murder, an FIR has been lodged on the complaint of Birju Mishra, a resident of Pidari of the elder brother of the newly married Manatand. In this, husband and father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law and sister-in-law have been accused. Raids are being conducted to arrest the other accused. Birju Mishra told that he had spoken to Anuradha on the evening of 9 December. On the morning of 10 December, an attempt was made to contact the phone, but could not be reached. In the afternoon, the villagers informed that Anuradha was killed and her in-laws took her to burn the corpse. The police was then informed of the case. Police seized the body from the crematorium and arrested the husband and father-in-law.

The newlywed's mother said that Anuradha had already been beaten and burnt. In this case, the in-laws in Kangli police station had made a bond that they would not kill her. After this, they took her with them and killed.
