Patna: Tea boom in Bihar's Bhagalpur district has now reached America. In the crisis of corona epidemic, two brothers from Dubauli village of Pirpainti in the district prepared herbal tea to increase immunity and started selling it online through Facebook and Google. Within four months, the demand for two thousand packets per month has increased. Earlier they used to cultivate lemongrass and big businessmen used to buy dried leaves from them. Due to this, they could not get the proper benefits.

Raman Dubey and Raunak Kumar of Dubauli village, 70 km from Bhagalpur city, told the media that Lemongrass planted in one acre was ready in the month of August. In view of corona, herbal tea itself was made from its leaves and started selling it in the market through Facebook and Google. Only five hundred packets were sold in August. After that, the demand for the product gradually increased. Right now the demand of 50 packets is being received from the US per month. This is being made available to those people through the post. Demand from other countries is also expected.

In view of the demand for herbal tea made from lemongrass, more than 30 farmers from the surrounding areas will cultivate it in ten acres from this year. Raunak said that farmers will not have to worry about storing and selling goods after producing lemongrass. They will be given a reasonable price.
