Bihar CM Nitish Kumar to start Samaj Sudhar Yatra from January 5

PATNA: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will begin his ‘Samaj Sudhar Abhiyan’- Part-2 (campaign for social reforms) on January 5, from West Champaran.

The Bihar chief minister would make people aware of the addiction of liquor, benefits of liquor ban, addiction to contrabands, dowry, child marriages and other social evils.. Leaders of his party and ministers will take part in the yatra, which will last for a month.

In the past, Nitish Kumar has been well-known for his yatras. In 2005, after he was appointed chief minister of Bihar for the first time, he began his first Yatra. His first Yatra was called Nyay (Justice) Yatr. He also did the Vikash Yatra, Dhanyawad Yatra, Prawas Yatra, Vishwas Yatra, Sewa Yatra, Adhikar Yatra, Sampark Yatra, Nischay Yatra, Vikash Karyo Ki Samiksha Yatra, Jal Jivan Hariyali Yatra, Smaj Sudhar Yatra in 2021, and the present Samaj Sudhar Yatra part-2.

The Samaj Sudhar Yatra part-2 schedule was finalised by Nitish Kumar during the Bihar Vidhan Sabha's winter session. District officials have already been given instructions to prepare the area for the chief minister's yatra.

Beginning on January 5 in Bihar, besides Nitish Kumar, the Congress party will also launch Bharat Jodo Yatra. The Bharat Jodo Yatra will begin in the Banka district and end in the Gaya district, passing through the districts of Bhagalpur, Khagaria, Begusarai, Darbhanga, Patna, and a few more. Mallikarjun Kharge, the party's national president, will serve as its leader.
