Patna: An encounter between the Bihar Police and 205 Cobra Commandos took place on Saturday night in Mahuri village under Gaya district of Bihar. A Naxalite has been killed in this. The Naxalite is identified as Zonal Commander Alok Yadav. Two more Naxalites are killed in an encounter with the zonal commander.

The police is running a search operation there. An AK-47 rifle, an INSAS rifle and a magazine have been recovered from the spot. According to the information, it happened around midnight in Barachatti forest area of Encounter district, which is about 100 km from the state capital. This action, which lasted till late night, resulted in the fierce firing from both sides. During this time, the whole forest resonated with the sound of gunfire. The bodies of three Naxalites have been recovered from the spot.

After the encounter in the early hours of Sunday, the police conducted a search operation. Apart from the zonal commander of the Naxalites, three bodies were recovered. An AK-47 rifle, an INSAS rifle and a magazine have been recovered from the spot. The Cobra Commando is a special jungle warfare unit of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) deployed in the state for anti-Naxal operations.
