Bihar: Two youths shot dead by criminals over old dispute

Katihar: Two youths were shot and injured by criminals in an old dispute in Katihar district of Bihar late on Friday evening. The condition of one of the injured is very critical. After the incident, the injured were taken to medical college for treatment from where they have been referred to Max Hospital in Purnia after first aid. The incident took place at Maithil Tola in The Assistant Police Station area of the district.

Ward councillor accused of shooting: Ipt is learnt that SDPO Amarkanth Jha and assistant police station president rushed to the medical college along with the team and collected information about the incident. Meanwhile, a large crowd gathered at the medical college. People said that the ward no.9 councillor and his son carried out the incident. No one knows the reason for the controversy. At present, the police are investigating the incident by taking a statement from the family members.

It is also said that late in the evening, Baramsia resident Rahul Yadav and Lohia Nagar resident Tushar Singh Maithil tola resident Ranjit Chaudhary were approaching their house. In the meantime, the two got into an argument with the people already present there. Meanwhile, two bullets were fired in which one bullet hit Rahul Yadav in the head and the other on Tushar Singh's hand.

Locals admitted them to hospital: People from nearby areas rushed to the spot after hearing the gunshot. But by then all the shooters had fled. Both the youths who fell injured on the road have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. In the entire case, Katihar Divisional Police Officer Amarkanth Jha asked for an inquiry. He said the criminals will soon be behind bars.
