Khagaria: In Morkahi police station area of Khagaria district of Bihar, the husband of the chief minister, Nandal Paswan, was shot dead by miscreants after entering his house. Police rushed to the spot and launched an investigation into the incident. The injured Nandal Paswan succumbed to his injuries while being taken to hospital.

After the killing, hundreds of villagers and family gathered and shouted slogans to arrest the culprits. The head's husband had been assaulted in the past, but he survived. "The husband of Ragni Devi, the panchayat head in Mandar village, 50-year-old Nandal Paswan slept alone in a room of the house on Monday night when the miscreants shot him and escaped," Moorkahi's police officer, Ghantan Kumar, told the press on Tuesday.

Hearing the sound of the bullet, the family rushed Nandal to the hospital where he was pronounced dead by the doctors. The police in-charge said that "a village man is being detained and questioned in this case. The cause of the murder is yet to be ascertained. The police are treating the prima facie murder as a cause of mutual interest," he said.
