Patna: Ahead of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav's Jan Vishwas Yatra, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary criticized him, urging Yadav to address allegations of corruption involving him and his family. Chaudhary also expressed confidence in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) winning all Bihar seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
"We demand that he first address the corruption allegations against him and his family. The NDA is fully prepared for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, and we are confident of securing victory in all Bihar constituencies," stated Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary.
Tejashwi Yadav is scheduled to kick off the "Jan Vishwas Yatra" following his removal from power in Bihar. The Yatra, reminiscent of Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, is set to take place from February 20 to 29, commencing with a rally in Muzaffarpur. Its objective is to highlight the government's accomplishments over the past 17 months.
Meanwhile, the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government has initiated an inquiry to scrutinize the performance of departments overseen by Tejashwi Yadav and his close ministers during the previous JDU-RJD administration. The Health Department, Road Construction Department, Urban Development and Housing Department, along with their decisions, will undergo assessment.
In response to RJD chief Lalu Yadav's statement indicating openness towards Nitish Kumar, Janata Dal-United (JDU) MLA Gopal Mandal affirmed that the Bihar Chief Minister is committed to his current path and will not reconsider.
"Political doors are always open; however, Nitish Kumar is resolute in his current trajectory. Let's continue till 2024, and the future will unfold accordingly," remarked Gopal Mandal.
Regarding the possibility of Nitish Kumar's return, Lalu Prasad Yadav stated, "If he decides to return, we will assess the situation. The door is always open."
Following a successful floor test, CM Nitish Kumar criticized the RJD for alleged corruption during their governance, affirming the Bihar government's intention to investigate these claims.
The JD(U) holds 45 seats in the 243-member House, while its allies, BJP and Hindustani Awam Morcha-Secular (HAM-S), possess 79 and four seats, respectively. With the support of 128 MLAs, the NDA holds a majority in the state assembly, surpassing the requisite 122-mark.
