Muzaffarpur: Seven persons including the owner have been booked for culpable homicide not amounting to murder in a boiler accident case at Namkeen and Noodles Factory in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. Police have registered an FIR based on the statement of Prasad Kumar Srivastava, regional in-charge of Muzaffarpur Bela industrial area. Police have set up charges against factory director Vikas Modi, wife Shweta Modi, two managers, supervisors and technicians etc.

According to the same Deputy Superintendent of Police Ram Naresh Paswan, the case is directly negligent in which so many people lost their lives. It is also being treated as a case of negligence on the part of the factory owner that if the boiler of the factory had been repaired at the right time, such an incident would not have happened.

The boiler is said to have been last repaired in May 2020. However, after enquiry on each aspect, it will also be known whether the repairs were actually carried out in May 2020 or only the certificate was issued. After the blast, the ASL team is also reaching the spot and conducting an inquiry and based on this, an inquiry report will be submitted in the near future.
